Tests done!

This morning I woke up, spontaneously took my religion test, and breathed in deep. I am done with school work until next weekend! It's like Spring Break! Well I mean I probably should still do my reading and mythology assignments which are ongoing throughout the semester but I'm kind of done. It feels good. However, the one downfall to not procrastinating: I finished all my tests and my stress is gone but since everyone else in the centre procrastinated I had no one to hang out with! So I got up, went running, then walked down Portabello. I love this place even if it is packed with people. It reminds me of the value of the past. There are so many cool antiques and the fact that they are so overpriced gives me comfort that people still value old and unique things that aren't mass produced in China. It was a fun trip to Portabello. On my walk home I turned up Cheapstow Villas and was walking towards this guy in his twenties. I didn't think anything of it when we made eye contact but as he got closer to me and I looked back up he was sort of smiling to himself. I kept wondering what his deal was but when he passed me he glanced sideways and said, "Darling, you look amazing today." I was so shocked I thought for sure he was talking to someone behind me. I did one of those things where you turn around to see who he's talking to and I realized that I was the only other person on the street. My initial thought was, "Whoa! Creepy forward guy!" but he wasn't really creepy about it. He didn't bug me or reach out and touch me or anything he just threw me a compliment. Either way, it made my day.
After my Portabello trip Sarah, Reesa and I attempted to go to Broadway market but it was too far out to get to and get back before they had tickets to the London eye. So Sarah and I went down to Westfields mall and looked around. I found a great shirt at H&M for seven pounds. I put it on when I got home and people here in the centre keep being like "Rachel you look cute today." I have realized that it's because I finally got dressed. I full on showered, blew my hair dry and put on real clothes instead of sweats. Weird how that can make you look better! Anyhow I also made a trip to Whiteley's and got some chocolate covered honeycomb. I think that, Percy Pigs, and Laduree macarons complete my life. Through in some nandos chicken and peri peri sauce and my life is made. Oh yeah, and a Ben's cookie. But that is a given. I love London.

Next coolest thing about today: The London Eye! I found this deal on lastminute.com a while ago where you could get tickets for ten pounds because it's the tenth anniversary. So Calvin, Mary, Cj and I got tickets for 6:00 so we could see the sunset and the city at dark. It was perfect timing. First they show you this awesome 4D movie and then you get to take a half hour ride and see the entire city. I went on it last summer with the Dees during the day and it was spectacular but I am so glad i got to see it at night. Seeing Big Ben and the houses of parliament lit up at night is breathtaking. I hogged the front left corned of the bubble just so I could stare at Big Ben the whole time. I was not disappointed at all. Also, I love love love the Thames. I wish that every city had a huge river running through the middle like the Thames. After we got off CJ and Mary rushed off to go study for Brit Lit so Calvin and I left to do our own thing. Hanging out one on one with Calvin was great. First of all it was nice to be away from girls and talk to someone normal and down to earth. Secondly, I think we all take Calvin for granted at the center. He is really intelligent and funny but more than anything he is super decent. We are lucky to have such good guys here on our program. I love Calvin because he is straightforward without being a jerk. So hanging out with him was great. We went to China town and got some great chinese food. I was skeptical at first because CJ, Laura and I had a crappy experience in China town last week but Calvin picked a way good place called the Crispy Duck and we both got noodles to go. Delicious and not too expensive. A good end to a great day. Tomorrow I am hoping to go to the British Museum before church and then pack for Paris! I can't wait!

London Eye in the day..... and London Eye at night!
