My bed-time is fast approaching so this post is going to be downright fast. Here are my thoughts I want to record from the last few days.
1. Sundays are exhausting. By the time you take an hour to get to church on the tube, then you get there and it's already two o'clock and you have to focus really hard to gather what they are saying in Spanish, then translate it in your head, and then comprehend it you get super tired. Then on top of that you get to spend the next two hours trying to calm down fifteen roudy primary children who ramble in hard-to-understand British accents or in Portugese (which I don't understand at all) or Spanish (Which I slightly understand). However... the Church is still true and as hard as my experience has been so far in the Spanish branch I still love it.
2. There are a lot more YSAs in London than I thought... but then I was thinking and observing at the multi-stake fireside last night and I realized that some of them might not really be YSAs... they might actually be OSAs...That's when life gets really scary.
3. Today I went to see a pentecostal church for my religion write ups. It was an interesting experience to say they least. I definitely don't agree with their doctrines and I had a pretty weird feeling the whole time I was there. I am just grateful for the Gospel in my life.
4. The National Gallery gets better everytime you go. Especially with CJ and Jake. Here are a few of my favorite comments from our outing this afternoon.
Jake (pointing at a really famous Rubens painting): Oh! Now this is a good one... because it looks real.
CJ: Why is everyone so fat in the paintings?
Jake: Cellulite was attractive then.
CJ: What's cellulite?
Rachel: It's like tapioca pudding fat.
Jake: Like cottage cheese
CJ: Right. I have that.
5. Hanging out at the Hyde Park Chapel with the YSA/OSA group is actually pretty fun. Laura, Karli and I went to do our church interviews there tonight and I got to meet some of Cameron and James McKean's mission companions. It was a good experience to hear about their conversions or their experiences as members in such a big city with so few members. I am definitely going to the Stake Dance on Friday because outside social contact is a good thing for my health considering I only socialize with the same forty people day in and day out.
6. Frog, the best yogurt place in London, stopped doing their two for one deals today. I am crushed. I can't go there anymore because now I can't afford it. Really, nothing has upset me more in the last few days than this tragic piece of news. Also, it's only 100 calories per serving so now I will probably compensate for my lack of frog with other caloric deserts. Blast.
7. Tonight I crashed Laura's skype conversation with her friend Jordan. He is a big Jazz fan so I told him to facebook stalk Ana and be her friend. So he did and he sent her a message without any second thoughts. Ana, sorry if Jordan is weird but I thought that perhaps his intense love for the best NBA team would be attractive. Also... he is attractive so you should be his friend.
8. That's all. Goodnight.
