Today was a very rainy day in London. It literally poured but I guess it doesn't really matter since I was in class until almost two o clock. I wish the schedule here allowed us more time in the afternoons. Right after class a few of us went to Dr. Samuel Johnson's house. He compiled the very first English dictionary which must have been quite the feat. Even though the museum cost us four pounds to get into I liked that it wasn't some huge overcrowded place that wore you out. It was just his house that was tucked back into this little square and it reminded me a lot of my family's old pioneer house. While were were there we tried on some the kids costumes. Check out our photos below but keep in mind that these were meant for 6-8 year olds.

Also today I wrote a Shakespeare paper about the play "Measure for Measure." I had never heard of it before this semester but after reading, watching and studying it I think it might be one of my favorites. At first it seems to be a tale of justice in regards to laws concerning chastity issues that are plaguing the town, but as you study it closer Shakespeare is really giving commentary on justice and mercy. It has a pretty touching ending where one of the characters, Isabella, pleads for the Duke to show mercy for her enemy. I liked that even centuries ago a man like Shakespeare understood the emotion of forgiveness. If you get a chance it is a play you should definitely read or see.
So lent starts tomorrow which means two things. First, I missed pancake day in London. Blast. And second, a bunch of girls at the center are trying to give things like chocolate and white bread up. So at first I scoffed at this idea because lets be honest, I wouldn't last a day here without chocolate. But then I thought that I could probably spend less time on facebook. So Mary decided to only use facebook once a week on Sundays and I decided I was going to try that with her. Wish me luck, we'll see if I succeed.
Also... CONGRATS TO MY LITTLE SISTER ABBY WHO GOT INTO BYU!!!!
