Okay so I have some catching up to do! Yesterday I pretty much stayed in the center all day what with classes and trying to finish all my reading! In fact it is Friday night and after being out all day and for a few hours I am still trying to make a dent in my assignments. I have dented about half way in. So discouraging. But it's okay. I'm trying to be positive and enjoy London. Which I am! So anyhow I started Kitchen duty yesterday. This is where we help the Shuler's (the directors over here) prepare to feed the 40 some odd people in the center. It's not bad but it is super time consuming. But I feel good about helping out especially when the food prepared here is so good. Now I fully understand why people just get fat here. It is so hard not to overdo meals when everything is so delicious. For instance, even breakfasts which consist of very little homemade food are so good. They have this yogurt over here and its Greek walnut and honey and I am addicted to it. I think leaving that behind in April will be really hard for me. The mornings I wake up and it's all gone I find myself so upset that I have to eat the second best flavor of toffee yogurt. My life is so hard… Anyhow yesterday I went to Primark. Super cheap store with so many wonderful things but as Ana said, you get what you pay for. Christina got this killer pink backpack for four pounds and when I went back today to buy one they were gone. Blast!
So today we got up and went to the tower of London. It was SOOOO cold down by the Thames. It was fun to see it again after I had seen it with the Dees. It was so crowded last summer and thus we didn't get through everything so this time I got to see Henry VIII's armor. I still cant get over this whole monarch business. God was definitely inspiring our founding father's when they established a democracy in America. There were just so many corrupt kings. But it is definitely cool to learn about. I feel like my brain is just being smashed full of British Literature and history. I need to do this sort of thing with American history! Maybe next summer I will intern in DC or something… or in ten years when I have recovered from the spending of this semester. But after the tower of London Susan Howe (our English professor) took us across the Thames to see the George Inn which apparently was a place that Chaucer wrote about. It had been around since the thirteenth century. It's just pretty amazing to be walking through a city almost getting run over by Double-Decker buses and then come around this tiny little alley and see a inn from the Canterbury tales! After that quick visit the whole group of us trooped into Borough market and that was quite the experience. It's like a city farmers market… kinda. I will take another trip back and observe better so that I can fully explain. We were all so hungry by that time that around 2 o clock Karli and I bought these amazing burgers with gourmet cheese and grilled onions. It was divine. From now on at home I am putting expensive cheese on my burgers. I am confident there is no other way to eat a burger now. Also we bought some treats there. The food is just so good it's hard to resist. The worst part is that we then come home and have dinner at five thirty and Sister Shuler cooks wonderful meals too. However tonight I was so full all I ate was salad. So after dinner tonight we all did some reading and lounging and then I wanted to just get out quickly so I went with some girls who bought gelato ( I resisted! Self control rocks!) and then we went to Tesco where I then spent my pounds (only 7 mom and dad) on The Young Victoria movie which I am going to watch two or three times here and then maybe send it home to Abby in the states!

So this is me in a fireplace at the tower of London just testing out their floo network. Apparently the ministry had disconnected this particular fireplace so my floo powder is faulty, hence why there are no flames there transporting me. So sad.
ha ha love it. Your posts make me hungry. You should tell Dave about your new obsession with greek yogurt-you two could be best friends
